This project transformed a former warehouse retail facility into new housing for the City of Kirkland’s police, municipal courthouse and jail operations. The existing facility required extensive concrete and steel upgrades to existing structural systems in order to accommodate the new spaces and current code requirements including the removal and replacement of the roof structure while protecting the existing tilt-up concrete shell. The completed project features three courtrooms, a 55-bed capacity jail, crime lab, firing range, weight room, maintenance facility for police vehicles and meeting spaces.
